UK Court Rejects Senator Ike Ekweremadu, Wife’s Release Over Organ trafficking

In connection with a plot to take a child’s organs, a UK judge denied Nigerian legislator Senator Ike Ekweremadu and his wife Beatrice release.

Ekweremadu and Beatrice showed up at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, according to Arise TV.

According to a report on Arise TV, the “claimed victim in this case is a homeless 15-year-old boy who was taken to the U.K. by Mr. and Mrs. Ekweremadu off the streets of Lagos, Nigeria.”

While Ike Ekweremadu and his wife are being held in custody on remand, the case has been postponed until July 7.

The pair was charged with conspiring to arrange for a child to be brought to the UK in order to harvest organs in their native Nigeria, according to a statement from the Metropolitan Police.

They are both accused of conspiring to plan or assist in another person’s travel with the intention of exploitation, specifically organ harvesting.

The youngster has been protected, according to the police, but they did not reveal the child’s gender, age, or the place of the arrests.

Given that they are appearing in court in Uxbridge, the newspaper speculates that it is likely that the suspects were detained at Heathrow Airport.

Detectives were notified of probable violations of the modern slavery statute in May 2022, the police said, and an inquiry was opened.
