NNPC Denies Tweet on Tinubu Picking a Muslim Vice President
Following the attacks on vice president claim in a Twitter post, NNPC spokesman Garba Muhammad said the breach had been rectified and the Twitter account had been recovered in a disclaimer issued to Twitter.
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) issued a statement on Twitter claiming that its account had been hacked and that it had been used to convey an inappropriate message.
Remember that in the 2023 election, Tinubu’s handle tweeted that he would choose a Muslim as his vice president.
After the post went viral and received several retweets, the NNPC was instantly chastised.

“The general public is hereby informed that #NNPCLimited’s Twitter handle (@NNPCgroup) was compromised and used to send an inappropriate message on 8th June 2022 at 6:35pm. The breach has been addressed, and the Twitter handle successfully recovered.
“#NNPCLimited wishes to reassure the general public that it remains committed to doing business in the most ethical manner at all times,” the disclaimer said.
