I’m Happy to Be Back Home, Bola Tinubu Says as He Returns to Lagos
Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress’ presidential candidate, has landed in Lagos after winning the party’s primary poll.
The candidate, who arrived in Lagos on Sunday, was greeted by a rapt audience at the airport.
Tinubu said it felt nice to come back home on his Instagram story, where he was seen waving to excited supporters who greeted him.
As they followed his entourage, fans carrying brooms, which are an APC symbol, chanted “Emilokan.”
“Feels nice to be back home,” Tinubu, who was also holding a broom, captioned the video.
On his arrival, Bola Tinubu was greeted by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, according to several footage accessible on the Internet.
“Asiwáju Bola Ahmed Tinubu returns to Lagos after weeks away,” the APC United Kingdom stated on Facebook.
“He left Lagos as a presidential hopeful and returned as a presidential candidate.” It’s got to be God!”
Bola Tinubu defeated his closest rivals, Rotimi Amaechi and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, with 1,271 votes two weeks ago, according to NG Times Online News.
Amaechi received 316 votes, with Osinbajo receiving 235.
Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, Pastor Tunde Bakare, Ahmed Rufai, Senator Rochas Okorocha, Jack Rich, Governor Ben Ayade, Governor David Umahi, Senator Ahmed Yarima, Dr Ahmed Lawan, Osinbajo, Amaechi, Governor Yahaya Bello, and Ogbonnaya Onu were among the 13 candidates.
