Suspected Yahoo Boys allegedly dumped the body of a young lady on the road in Akure, the capital of Ondo State, on Tuesday.
The body of the lady, whose identity is unknown, was discovered in the Oke-Ijebu neighborhood of the state capital, between Redeemed Church and CAC Oke-Temidire.
The body was allegedly discarded by ritualists suspected of being internet scammers known as the “Yahoo Boys,” according to sources.
After dropping the body, they were claimed to have drove away.
Residents in the neighbourhood were observed rushing to the location where the body had been placed, covered in white cloths.
Along with the corpse, goods such as cream, sponge, tablets, bra, and clothes were placed in a black nylon bag.
A phone number and the name Joy were also scrawled on a little sheet of paper inside the black nylon beside the torso.
When contacted, DSP Funmilayo Odunlami, the state’s police spokesperson, confirmed the occurrence but stated that investigations have begun.
According to her, because her body had not been mutilated, the authorities had not yet suspected foul play.
