Femi Adesina, President Muhammadu Buhari’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, said on Monday that the Federal Government is not interested in identifying terrorist sponsors.
In an interview with Channels Television, Femi Adesina, the presidential spokesperson stated that instead of exposing terrorists, the FG will focus on prosecuting suspects.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) identified six Nigerians as supporters of terrorism in the nation on its terror list last week, according to the Daily Independent.
In response to a question about whether Buhari would address the issue of terrorism at the United Nations Assembly following the designation of six Nigerians as “sponsors of terrorism” in the United Arab Emirates, Adesina stated that the federal government’s priority would be the prosecution of suspects.
“Naming and shaming will not be the motivation,” he added. Rather, bringing criminals to justice would suffice. Nigeria has no intention of publicly identifying and humiliating anyone. Its goal is to bring them to justice.
“As you can see, the United Arab Emirates has named certain persons, and the federation’s attorney-general has reacted, stating that all of these people will have their day in court in due course.
