Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has stated that he will choose who takes the team’s penalties.
Following his arrival from Juventus this summer, Cristiano Ronaldo will fight with compatriot Bruno Fernandes for penalty duties.
However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says that he will make the final decision.
“I knew that issue was going to come, and of course I’ve had a talk with the two of them,” he said at a press conference on Friday.
We have two players there who I would trust with my life to take a penalty kick, and it’s a fantastic position to be in.
“It’ll be up to me to decide what happens. When they’re asked to take the penalty, the two of them will continue to do what they’ve always done.
“Of course, I’ve had this chat with them, and they’re aware of my viewpoint. They are aware that I choose who will take the penalty shot if we are awarded one. That isn’t going to be a problem.”
On Saturday, Ronaldo will make his first appearance against Newcastle.
