Mumini Olanipekun, a supplier of locally brewed whiskey, dubbed Ogogoro, in Ifon Orolu, Osun State, allegedly stabbed to death one of his clients, Wale, following a brawl at his bar on Sunday.
According to reports, the suspect turned himself in to the Ifon Police Division on Monday according to NG Times, When Olanipekun and Wale went to the pub for a drink, Metro learned that they got into a brawl.
During the fight, the suspect allegedly used a broken bottle to stab the deceased in the neck and stomach before fleeing the scene. Probably, the death of the man could have been avoided if He was tended to immediately.
The person died on the way to the hospital, according to a local resident who spoke on the condition of anonymity.
“The incident occurred late on Sunday,” he stated. Mumini Olanipekun, the pub’s proprietor, got into a confrontation with Wale, one of the patrons. During the fight, Olanipekun allegedly stabbed the dead in the neck and stomach with a shattered bottle.
The deceased did not die on the spot. I was told he died on the way to a hospital. I don’t know the cause of their fight, but all of us in the neighborhood were seized with fear after those that witnessed the incident fled after the man died.”
