Amidst Sit-at-home , Buhari Visit Imo State

Despite threats from the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra, President Muhammadu Buhari is currently in Owerri, the capital of Imo State (IPOB).

Around 9:30 a.m., the presidential jet that brought Buhari to the state landed at Sam Mbakwe Airport.

The president can be seen in the photos below during his one-day working visit.

Several Imo citizens have gathered at the Sam Mbakwe airport in preparation for President Muhammadu Buhari’s arrival on Thursday.

Hope Uzodinma, the state governor, is preparing to commission various projects for the President.

The people of the state have been ecstatic about the President’s visit. It may be recalled that a group of Igbo youths from all over the world promised to turn out in large numbers to welcome the president to the state.

Onwuasoanya Jones, Deputy National Leader Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Youth Wing, said this in a statement on Wednesday. The President’s travel to Imo is his first official visit to the state since taking office in 2015, and it is the first time the state has hosted a working visit since 2009.

Onwuasoanya advised that anyone harassing people who want to participate in the welcome ceremony for the President in Imo state would be treated as invaders rather as representatives of the IDP.
