2021/2022 UEFA Champions League Draw
The draw for the 2021/22 Champions League season was held on Thursday in Istanbul, with the five Spanish teams in the competition discovering their fate. Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have difficult group stages ahead of them, Villarreal will face Manchester United once more, Real Madrid has a very identical draw to last year, and Sevilla will be hopeful about their chances of progressing to the knockout stages.
Barcelona will have to deal with Bayern Munich as well as the possibility of a Benfica side fighting for qualification. Meanwhile, Atletico will play Liverpool, Porto, and AC Milan in one of the most evenly balanced groups.
Another difficult group is Group A, which pits Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain against each other. We could see the latest chapter in Cristiano Ronaldo’s everlasting struggle with Lionel Messi if he completes his speculated move to the English champions.
