Niger Commissioner for Information, Mallam Idris Kidnapped

Mallam Idris Mohammed, the Niger State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, has been kidnapped by gunmen suspected of being bandits.

The Commissioner was kidnapped on Sunday night by highly armed men who broke into his home in Baban Tunga, Tafa local government area of the State, according to Ng Times.

The armed men, estimated to number around 20, invaded the Commissioner’s home around 11:00 a.m., shooting intermittently into the air before abducting their target in front of his second wife.

As of press time, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, could not be reached.
