Despite extensive claims to the contrary, prominent journalist Fisayo Soyombo has revealed that kidnapped Major Christopher Datong is still alive.
The terrorists entered into the NDA grounds early Monday, killing two army officers and kidnapping others, according to the Ng Times.
“The officer who was kidnapped by terrorists at the Nigerian Defence Academy yesterday, Major Christopher Datong, has been assassinated by his kidnappers,” he tweeted.
The Major’s lifeless body was discovered on Tuesday evening, prompting widespread speculation that the terrorists had killed him, but new reports indicate that the officer is still alive.
“This is inexcusable and unacceptable. Worse worse, this brings the total number of NDA military officials slain by terrorists in the last 24 hours to three.
Meanwhile, General Lucky Irabor, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), has denounced the gunmen’s attack on the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) in Kaduna, comparing the act to an armed robbery in a private property.
According to the Ng Times, the incident in the early hours of Tuesday resulted in the killings of two officers and the kidnapping of another.
Soyombo, in a message posted on his Facebook page, confirmed that Datong was still alive.
