How Bella Shmurda Blocked His Chances to Be on Wizkid’s Deluxe Album

Bella Shmurda has published High Tension 2.0 through Dagbana Republik. Dagbana Republik represents him and his gang, he told Pulse Nigeria in an interview.

Wizkid was planned to release a ‘Made In Lagos (Deluxe)’ and a ‘Essence (Remix)’ featuring Justin Bieber, according to Pulse Nigeria on August 16, 2021.

Buju, Bella Shmurda, and Justin Bieber were said to be among the artists due to appear on Made In Lagos Deluxe at the time. Shmurda is expected to appear on one of the songs.

According to a source who spoke to Pulse Nigeria, Shmurda was removed from the album due to his ongoing legal dispute with One World Global Records, the label on which Shmurda published his High Tension EP.

NG Times also exclusively disclosed on August 2, 2021 that One World has filed an Originating action, claiming ownership of the trademark ‘Bella Shmurda,’ as well as the copyright in all musical compositions and recordings made under or in association with the term.

The label requested a court injunction prohibiting the Singer from claiming ownership of the name and performing musical works issued under or in connection with it. In addition, the label demanded N200 million in damages for the Singer’s breach of contract.
