After one of their cows wandered and killed a two-month-old baby, herders evacuated Ebrumede community in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State on Monday.
The infant’s mother was reportedly standing by the side of the road when the cow strayed and ran into her and the baby.
She suffered terrible injuries, and the baby died as a result of the incident.
The herdsmen rushed away from being attacked and maybe killed because they sensed threat from local neighbors and indigenes.
DSP Bright Edafe, the Delta State Acting Police Public Relations Officer, corroborated the report in a telephone conversation with our correspondent when called for comment on the topic.
“It’s confirmed,” he remarked. He stated, “Only one baby perished.”
