Allah Will Come Down on You If You Don’t Declare August 9 As Public Holiday – Islamic Group to Buhari

Muslim Rights Concern, MURIC, has demanded that the Federal Government recognise and declare every first day of the Islamic calendar as a holiday or be ready to face punishment from Allah.

This demand was made in a statement signed by Prof. Ishaq Akintola, MURIC’s founder and director, and made accessible to DAILY POST on Wednesday.

On Monday, August 9th, 2021, the first day of the Islamic year, Muslims in Nigeria will join their brothers and sisters throughout the world to commemorate Hijrah Day.

The Federal Government, according to MURIC, has disregarded repeated pleas and demands from Islamic organizations in the country to designate this day a national holiday.

As the deadline approaches, the Islamic human rights organization said it has chosen to increase the demand this year.

Muslim Rights Concern, MURIC, has demanded that the Federal Government recognise and declare every first day of the Islamic calendar as a holiday or be ready to face punishment from Allah.

MURIC made this demand in a statement signed by its founder and director, Prof. Ishaq Akintola and made available to DAILY POST on Wednesday.

Muslims in Nigeria will join their fellow faithful around the world to mark Hijrah Day on Monday 9th August, 2021 being the first day of the Islamic year.

MURIC lamented that the Federal Government had ignored several calls and demands being made by Islamic organisations in the country to declare this day as holiday.

The Islamic human rights group said it has decided to amplify the demand this year as the date approaches.

“We are calling on all state governors who are Muslims to identify with this noble, peaceful and divinely rewarding struggle by declaring this coming Monday (9th August, 2021) as Hijrah Day holiday.

“Members of state executives (commissioners, chairmen of agencies, etc) who are Muslims have a duty to bring this to the attention of state governors as a matter of urgency.

“Also, chairmen of local governments who are Muslims should encourage and support Islamic organisations and schools within their jurisdiction to organise events to mark the Day.

Muslims in public posts who fail to promote it, on the other hand, will face questioning from Allah yaom al-Qiyamah, as they will have to explain why they abandoned their faith and fellow Muslims for worldly gain,” it stated.
