Robert Clarke, SAN, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, has cautioned that Nigeria may not survive the next six months.
“Many things are happening, and I swear by my father’s grave, if care is not taken, Nigeria will crumble in six months,” Clarke a senior lawyer said on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics.
While reacting to the recent warning issued by the Department of State Services, DSS, to go after elements causing disunity in the country, Clark lamented the recent spate of insecurity in Nigeria.
“See, the issue with Nigeria is that those who should know don’t want to know and don’t know,” he explained.
“The security session continues to talk and talk and talk. What exactly are they up to? Today, the security situation in this country is so bad that I, Robert Clark, cannot guarantee Nigeria’s continued presence for another six months.
“Since the 1999 constitution was enacted, and this crop of politicians who were swimming in Abacha’s loot and trying to form as many political parties as possible for him (Abacha) got into money and politics, Nigeria has never been the same.
“Nigeria is in a much worse situation than it was in 1982. What is the root of the problem? The reason for this is because of the leadership we have.”
