Chidinma Ekile Shuns Secular Music for Gospel, Deletes Old Songs

Chidinma Ekile, a popular Nigerian singer, has left secular music to pursue a career as a gospel music minister.

Recall Chidinma is known for popular songs like Kedike and the likes. However, one of her gospel song is titled “Holy,” she recalls all that happened in the cause of getting the song recorded with the help of God through Frank Edward.

I remember when I discussed with @frankrichboy about recording a worship song, we literally didn’t know where to start but all he said to me was ‘relax God will give us a song’, we shared, he started to play the keys and we began to worship! Immediately he said just hold let me record this worship straight up !! And this song was birthed 🙏🏽I love God and this is me just expressing my love to Him.”

Chidinma made the announcement on her Instagram profile, alongside a video of her singing a gospel song in a church.

She also took down all of her previous Instagram photos and videos of her songs.

“My name is Minister Chidinma Ekile,” the 30-year-old singer wrote alongside the video. I am a crusader for Jesus Christ’s gospel.

“Your future is in need of you, but your past isn’t. While the devil knows your name, he refers to you by your sins. God is aware of your sins, however he addresses you by your given name.

“Jesus is the message. Since the maker of the ends of the world loves me, I will reign in life.”

Chidinma was famous for her hit songs “Kedike and Yanga” before becoming a minister.
