Man City Bomb Liverpool in Record-breaking Win

In a paulseating match between the table topper Man City and 4th placed Liverpool saw a five goal thriller. The game is Man City’s first Premier League win at Anfield since 2003. It’s a memorable night for Man City, following another record broken on the night.

In the ongoing 2020-2021 Premier League campaign, Man City have now stupendously equaled the all-time winning run by an English top-flight side across all competitions, winning each of their last 14 matches – the same number as Preston (ending in 1892) and Arsenal (ending in 1987).

Manchester City beats Liverpool 4-1, extending their club-record winning streak in all competitions to 14 games. No thanks to error from the Liverpool goalie who made costly mistakes in tonight’s game.

Recall Liverpool have not lost at Anfield for over three (3) and a half years until recently when they lose two on a row and now Man City to make three matches.

In his reaction to the lose, Jurgen Klopp said, “Big part of the game was a brilliant game from my side. I really liked it.

“First half played really good football. Second half, City changed the system slightly. A little adaptation and we would be in the game again but in the start of the second half we did not give enough options to play and gave the first goal away.

“We gave them too much opportunity. They scored that goal, we scored the equaliser. We were good again but then made two massive mistakes that is clear. At 3-1 down at this level it is tough to take and then Foden with a genius situation for the fourth goal.

“If we play football like we did for a long time tonight then we will win football games, 100%.”

On Alisson’s errors: “It is true as well we did not give him a lot of options, especially the first one. Second yeah, he just mishit the ball, maybe he had cold feet, it sounds funny but don’t know the situation. He has saved our lives many times, no doubt about that, tonight he made mistakes.”

Man City boss Pep Guardiola in his response to Skysports said, “We and #mcfc fans are lucky to have a guy (Phil Foden) from the academy who loves Man City, grew up in our academy supporting and being a fan and a ballboy, and has already become a top, top footballer for us.”

“We adjusted our set-up, the quality of the players did the rest.” Pep Guardiola’s said while reacting to Manchester City’s 4-1 win over Liverpool.

Raheem Sterling has now joined Lionel Messi and Sergio Agüero as the only players to score 100 goals under manager Pep Guardiola in his top-flight managerial career.

Man City are now five (5) points clear on the Premier League table with a game in hand.
